Our history, our future

Examples of Dragons Blood Creations garments

Starting as 'The Olde Frock Shop', I began selling medieval inspired clothing at the 'Medieval Festival' in 1997 with Fiona Mariner, an old friend of mine. As she couldn't help me the following year, I asked Adele.

We started part time as we both had full time jobs. I was part owner of a Fancy Dress Hire shop and Adele was still working for the Australian Government, where we had first met in the mid 70's. In March 1999 I gave up the shop to work at this full time and Adele resigned in June of the same year to join me and we've been building the business ever since. Adele came up with the current name first. I insisted on adding the 'Creations' to it as we kept getting asked for 'Dragon's Blood'. We didn't realise at first, that it was a resin used in Pagan and Wiccan ritual (it's also used to colour violins)

We started working full time from the house we shared but were determined to move as soon as possible to improve our profile. We were already getting a good reputation for the work we were doing, but our environment was uninspiring to say the least. When we first saw the 100 year old number 19, it was a mess, ceiling falling in, pidgeon poo and cockroaches all over the place, filthy walls and a truck parked inside.

If we ever expand, it's the work room that will be finding a new home. It was love at first sight. We saw the potential and we've been here since the 15th October 2001.

Our hopes for the future are simple. Expand our sales overseas and as a result, employ more people to work for us. This site has been built to achieve this and the exchange rate being what it is, the advantages to our overseas customers are obvious. We are not about to ignore more local customers though. We are happy to deal with anyone who desires quality clothing, made with the best care and if you find any faults with our garments that we missed, we'll fix or replace them as quickly as we can, no matter where you're from.

You also have our guarantee that all of our garments are designed and made on the premises and most of our products we can make wholesale, so if you have a retail outlet or know someone who may like to stock our garments, give them our address to contact us.

We are happy to send our garments anywhere in the world.

For our Australian customers, we are happy to tell you that our waspies and Adele's Jewellery, are now available in 'Gown of Thorns' at 400 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, Victoria. In South Australia, where we're based, 'Madisons' of Port Noarlunga has a small range of our garments and 'Innuendo Lingerie' Brighton Road, Brighton, have Waspies.

Someone once said to us, I've heard you're expensive but you're very good. This is a reputation we can be justifiably proud of.

Highest regards, Terry
